Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope all of your families are having a good start to their November and continuing to stay healthy! There is definitely plenty of changes happening at EHMMS at the moment. In addition to students returning fulltime, there are several pieces in our renovation that are starting to come together particularly the front area of our building. We anticipate several areas being ready for use in the near future including:
- Six classrooms in the front of the building, including two science classrooms and four regular classrooms.
- Four large bathrooms in the front of our building (two upstairs/two downstairs) have been fully renovated and will be ready for use by the end of the first week of November.
- We anticipate the front entrance to the building being available around the middle of November.
- Our new cafeteria and library are also close to being ready. Our goal is to have both large group spaces available for students upon returning from Thanksgiving break or shortly after.
As you can imagine, navigating a renovation project has been a challenge for our staff, especially when considering the COVD-19 pandemic. We appreciate your patience with the process and are excited to have access to more modernized facilities to utilize with our students.
I also wanted to pass along some news regarding our EHMMS Administration team. Mr. Long, one of our assistant principals, has accepted a position in the Riverview School District just outside of Pittsburgh. Mr. Long has been an assistant principal at EHMMIS for just under five years in addition to teaching at EHMMS. His energy and passion for our students will be missed, however we are excited that Mr. Long will be able to be closer to his family in the Pittsburgh area. We wish him the best and thankful for his positive influence on our students and staff.
Have a great rest of November and a nice Thanksgiving!
