Hello Parents,

I hope all of you have had a nice start to your 2020 and are enjoying the warmer than usual weather that has accompanied January and the start of February. I am pleased to share that we have made significant progress with our building renovation at EHMIS. Over the winter break, our administration and counseling offices were completed and we were able to move into our new spaces.

We are also nearing the completion of phase 2 in which there will be twelve classrooms completed. We anticipate having students and staff in these rooms within the next two weeks. As we move forward with our renovation, I would also like to share information on the next phases of the project:

EHMIS Auditorium - Renovation work began in the auditorium area the first week of February. We anticipate work being completed by the end of the school year. Spring Concerts for our band and choral programs will be held at the high school. The dates of the concerts are March 26th (Band) and May 19th (Chorus).

  • Pool Area - At the conclusion of the swimming season, work will begin immediately on the pool and the adjacent locker rooms to the pool. Highlights of the pool renovation include:
  • Retractable bleachers in pool area and all new tile in pool area (walls & floor).
  • A larger lobby area at the entrance of the
  • Lockers rooms that are reconfigured for better flow and to meet ADA

While the renovation inevitably causes some challenges, we are excited to begin to see the transformation of our school to more updated and modern facilities that will better serve our students. The project is on schedule to be completed in the summer of 2021. If you have any questions regarding the project, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Regards,

Dr. Jeffrey Smale
